FBI Cybersecurity Expert to Speak at Cornerstone's Hike the Hill
Thursday, May 21, 2015 6:25 AM

Hike the Hill

You know by the ever-glowing spotlight on data breaches that cybersecurity is a hot-button issue these days—and rightfully so. Target, Home Depot, Anthem, and the many other companies continue to deal with the fallout of those breaches, as are untold numbers of consumers and financial institutions. In addition to recovery and fraud costs, credit unions have also been the victims of data breaches, and credit union principals have to wonder if they'll be next.

This year at the 2015 Hike the Hill event in Washington, DC, on June 22-24, attendees will hear from Ricky Alwine, supervisory special agent in the FBI Cyber Division, Major Cyber Crimes Unit with emphasis on fraud and financial services. In addition to 11 years as a special agent for the FBI, Alwine's expertise stems from seven years as a U.S. Army special agent, four years as a software engineer, and previous assignments which include investigating computer intrusions (18 U.S.C. 1030 violations) and international terrorism out of the Washington Field Office. Alwine also has a BS in computer science and an MS in computer forensics.

Not yet registered for this year's Hike the Hill? What are you waiting for?

There is no fee for this truly essential advocacy even, and room reservations may be made at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel at the great rate of $239 plus tax.
