Thursday, October 23, 2014 7:00 AM

Ray Bradford

Ray Bradford, a longtime board member of FAA Credit Union in Oklahoma City, passed away Oct. 22 at the age of 75.

Ray began his membership with FAA Credit Union in 1968 and started his volunteer service in 1988 when he ran for the board of directors. During his tenure at FAA, Ray served five years as chairman and three years as vice-chairman. He also served on the Credentials Committee for the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma and assisted with the balloting process at the association's annual meeting for a number of years.

Ray was an active part of the credit union movement and was the first volunteer in Oklahoma to complete the Volunteer Achievement and Volunteer Leadership program. He attended a number of conferences each year including the Annual Government Affairs Conference in Washington, DC; and because of his steadfast service, Ray was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma in 2012.

FAA President/CEO Steve said, "We will truly miss Ray and his never-ending smile. He epitomized a true volunteer spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever we needed it. He made it a point to know all of the employees by name and represented our members well. We are deeply saddened by his passing."

Services are pending.
