FAA Credit Union Changes Name to True Sky Credit Union
Friday, July 22, 2016 6:55 AM

New Name and Logo Honors Aviation Roots, Focuses on Community

FAA Credit Union is charting a new course this month with a fresh name, True Sky Credit Union. Inspired by the organization’s aviation roots, the refreshed identity better positions the community credit union for continued growth throughout the Oklahoma City metro area. Immediate steps to launch the new branding for the company have begun.

“Our new name and look are the result of significant thought on who we are as an institution and where we want to be in the future," said Steve Rasmussen, True Sky president and CEO. "We are immensely proud of our history with the FAA and are grateful for the continued support of our many members who work there. In recent years, our membership has grown to include not just FAA employees, but also people from all walks of life. Even though we now operate under the True Sky name, we are still the same company with the same dedication to serving our members.”

The recently named True Sky Credit Union was established in 1946 to serve employees at the Civil Aeronautics Administration, later known as the Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA. The credit union expanded in 2001 to include members from the community, even opening a bilingual branch in south Oklahoma City.

As part of the branding efforts, existing True Sky Credit Union members will see updated signage in branches and new logos on their communication pieces, as well as updated looks for their checks, debit and credit cards. In addition, True Sky is launching a multi-faceted advertising campaign, which includes billboards, social media, and television to introduce the fresh identity to the community. The branding was created by STAPLEGUN, an advertising agency in downtown Oklahoma City.

“The True Sky name is representative of the commitment to loyalty, balance, and growth that has shaped our credit union for so many years," said True Sky Board Chair Jessie McMullen. "We’re honored to serve such a great community and look forward to continued growth."

Next on the horizon for True Sky Credit Union is a new branch in Edmond, Okla., which will open on Aug. 1. Located at 2350 W. Danforth, the branch replaces their current location in the area and will offer the latest in technology as well as additional drive-thru lanes and a new employee structure.
