Employment Investigations: Who is Investigating Whom?

Increasingly, employees are taking action on their own to collect information or "investigate" a workplace incident, whether through secretly tape-recording conversations in the workplace, going to social media, or removing company documents. These actions are creating new challenges for employers when they investigate workplace incidents and complaints.

What can employers do about it? Join your colleagues at the upcoming webinar, Employment Investigations: Who is Investigating Whom? sponsored by the Cornerstone HR Council.

Date:  May 18, 2016
Time:  2–3 p.m. CT
Register Online

Your facilitator will discuss the issue, as well as the latest regulatory oversight and administrative agency rulings that impact what employers must do when conducting internal investigations.

Some topics to be covered include:

  • Who should be the investigator?
  • Do employers have to give disclosures to interviewees?
  • Should you review social media sites?
  • How to document interviews and findings?
  • What policies should you have to address these issues?

Your Speaker:  Daniel Stern
Daniel Stern advises employers on labor and employment matters including affirmative action plans, wage and hour issues, and discrimination and harassment claims. By recommending and developing effective employment policies and procedures, he helps clients reduce the risk of employment-related lawsuits. He is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
