Presenter - John R. Aleman

John Aleman is a Lead Subject Matter Expert for Adult Protective Services specializing in Risk and Investigations.  John consults on financial exploitation and evidence-driven investigations to all regions in Texas. John directs investigations protocol statewide in and acts as a regional subject matter expert for problematic cases in investigations and services rendered to APS clients.  John currently reviews problematic and complex Employee Misconduct Registry Cases (EMR) and consults with the State Office on how to proceed with challenging cases. 

Prior to working at DFPS, John spent 14 years in active law enforcement.  From 1990-1992, John worked as a Client Rights Investigator for Texas Department of Mental Health and Retardation from 1990-1992.  John transferred to Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in 1992 as a Facility Abuse and Neglect Investigator in San Antonio and was promoted to Regional Supervisor for Austin in 1994.  In 2006, John became the Subject Matter Expert in Exploitation and Evidence Driven Investigation.
