The El Paso Chapter of Credit Unions presented more than 100 pounds of Back-2-School supplies to Region 10/Child Protective Services, the Rainbow Room (501 Hawkins Blvd. in El Paso 79925). The Donation Drop-Off took place on Aug. 19.
The Back-2-School supply drive started July 18 and ended August 12. The drive was made possible thanks to El Paso Chapter of Credit Unions: TFCU; One Source FCU; GECU; and Firstlight FCU, to name a few.
The Rainbow Room is an emergency resource room for children whose lives have been affected by child abuse and neglect. Operated by Community Partners of El Paso, the Rainbow Room provides basic needs to families with an open case at Child Protective Services to help stabilize the family so that they can work toward healing and prevent further instances of abuse and neglect. The Rainbow Room serves more than 700 children every year and is funded solely through grants and community donations.
The El Paso Chapter of Credit Unions is a non-profit collective of individuals belonging to a variety of area credit unions. Its purpose is to promote unity among credit unions through communication, training, and participation in community, state, and national projects that support the cooperative spirit of the credit union movement.
