EECU Awards $30,000 in Academic Scholarships to Six Seniors

EECU Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, awarded six high school seniors academic scholarships of $5,000 each. Three are awarded to students planning to earn degrees in education and three are given to students pursuing any other field of their choice.

This year’s winners and their intended courses of study are:

  • Emily Morgan Hailey of Fort Worth Christian School, Nursing
  • Kiana Headland of Alvarado High School, International Business Affairs
  • Ifeoluwa Obayan of Mansfield Timberview High School, Biomedical Engineering
  • Sydney Peel of Colleyville Heritage High School, Education and Art
  • Deanna Pierce of Richland High School, Education
  • Christian Turnley of Keller High School, Music Education

“We have a long history of supporting education in our community through our scholarship program and other efforts throughout the year,” said Lonnie Nicholson, EECU president and CEO. “We’re proud to support these students’ endeavors, and we’re confident that all six of them will do great things with their educations.”

Since its inception, the Glenn Mandeville Memorial Scholarship program has awarded more than $420,000 in scholarships to high school seniors in the area.
