Wednesday, March 18, 2015 7:00 AM

Tommy Kirkindoll

Thomas Kirkindoll, a dynamic presence with a 32-year history of service to East Texas Professional Credit Union, passed away on Sunday, March 15.

Tommy, as he was known, had been hired in August 1972 as the manager of ETPCU's Nacogdoches office. He became president in May 1978 when ETPCU had three branches, $16,854,116 in total assets, and 10,290 members.

Tommy retired from ETPCU in June 2004. At the time of his retirement, ETPCU's total assets had grown exponentially, to $245,349,946. Under Tommy's leadership, ETPCU merged in five smaller credit unions, opened four additional branches, and obtained a community charter (May 23, 2000). Membership had grown to 39,570—an increase of 29,280 members.

He felt honored to serve there with a distinguished board of directors and terrific staff and was very proud of the accomplishments they achieved. Tommy also served as chairman of the board for Town North Bank in Dallas Texas.

He will be missed.
