Cornerstone Credit Union League is offering a half-day Home Equity Lending Seminar in Houston presented by attorney Tom Duke with Blalack & Williams, PC. Save money by registering now, before the early bird deadline of March 29.

This half-day seminar is for Texas state and federal credit unions in the early stages of a traditional Texas home equity lending program, but will also provide a refresher and update for those credit unions that have made such loans for some time. Also, the seminar includes rules for permissible lending against member homestead under the Texas Constitution and statutes; a step-by-step analysis of the extensive Texas Constitutional Amendment containing the legal requirements for a Texas home equity loan; and rules for curing errors in existing home equity loans, collection, and foreclosure.

Tom DukeYour presenter, Tom Duke, has practiced law with Blalack & Williams since 1996 and has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. He has assisted clients with diverse real estate projects, foreclosure on mortgage and home equity loans, and the development of documents for consumer investment and rental property loans. Duke also assists clients in their review of vendor contracts and loan agreements. His areas of practice include credit union and consumer finance law, commercial and residential real estate law, transactions and contracts, and seminars and training. Duke has a BA from Austin College and a JD from Baylor University School of Law.
