DuGood FCU Teams Up with Local Schools to Collect Jeans for the Homeless
Friday, January 23, 2015 7:00 AM

Kids on the street are a little warmer this week thanks to a collaborative effort by West Brook High School, Hardin High School, and DuGood Federal Credit Union. The trio wrapped up its Blue Jeans Drive for kids last Friday, and all items collected were donated to homeless and to struggling children in Southeast Texas.

“When our friends over at West Brook asked us to join this effort, we were immediately on board,” DuGood FCU Marketing Communications Specialist Rebecca Prince said. “We’re always looking for ways to give back to the community. Our employees have such generous hearts. They responded right away with boxes and car loads full of jeans.”

The Blue Jeans Drive is one of many community projects in which DuGood and West Brook High School have partnered. The credit union opened Southeast Texas’ first Student Financial Center at West Brook in 2004, and they have been working together to promote financial literacy ever since.
