Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award Helps Demonstrate CU Difference
Wednesday, April 17, 2013 6:35 AM

The Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA) are pleased to sponsor the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award Program.  Texas credit unions are encouraged to participate in this year’s award program.  All entries must be submitted by Aug. 1.

As a member benefit, TCUL does not charge a fee for credit unions to participate in the National Recognition Awards Program.  Only first place winners at the state level will advance to CUNA for judging at the national level.  And although CUNA charges an entry fee, as a member benefit, TCUL pays the entry fee for all Texas credit unions chosen to advance to the national competition.

Since 1987, the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award has honored credit unions for their charitable works in their communities.  Some credit unions have ongoing programs and establish a special relationship with local social service agencies or school programs.  Other programs address many different needs in the community.  No matter the size or scope of a project, each participating credit union builds its reputation as a good corporate citizen along the way.

For additional information, please visit the Awards & Recognition section of TCUL’s web site, at  If you have any questions, please contact Linda Webb-Mañon, TCUL vice president of communications & PR, at (469) 385-6486 or (800) 442-5762, ext. 6486. You may also e-mail
