Don’t Miss the Registration Deadline to Vote in Texas Primary
Tuesday, January 26, 2016 7:00 AM

Many elections in Texas are determined in the primary, held in the spring, before the general election in the fall. For example, of the 36 congressional districts in Texas, there are nine in which the primary winner will not face an opponent in the general election, making the primary the only opportunity for voters to have a voice in those races.

Credit union members can flex their political muscles by voting in the primary and supporting their incumbents and candidates who support credit unions.

The deadline to register in order to be eligible to vote on March 1 is Monday, Feb. 1.

Early voting for the primary runs from Feb. 16-26

If you are not registered, or are not sure whether you are registered, you can find all the information you need at VoteTexas.Gov. You can also find your voting location, or get answers to any other voting questions there.

Contact Texas Credit Union Association Legislative and Regulatory Director Charlotte Spencer at 512-853-8511 or for more information.
