Compliance & Audit ConferenceThe 2015 Compliance and Audit Conference takes place in Oklahoma City June 8–10, and will be presented by industry-leading experts to ensure you get the latest on what's hot now and coming up in credit union regulatory compliance.

Featured speaker Matt Biliouris, from National Credit Union Association, will speak on "Consumer Protection: New Focus, New Rules, and the Impact on Credit Unions."

Biliouris, deputy director, Office of Consumer Protection with NCUA, outlines core functions of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau survey, and recent final and proposed rules. He will also explain NCUA’s working relationship with the CFPB and teach credit union compliance and audit professionals how to have a voice in the decisions affecting business operations and member services. This session emphasizes NCUA’s role in the rulemaking process and coordination with other agencies in implementing the requirements.

Biliouris began his career with NCUA in 1992, as an examiner in Portland, Maine, and then Virginia Beach, Virginia. During his nearly 20-year career with NCUA, Biliouris has served as a supervision analyst in the Region II office; information systems officer and program officer in the Office of Examination & Insurance; special assistant to the executive director; and director of supervision in the Office of Examination and Insurance. He has also served as a special assistant to board member Fryzel during his term as chairman of NCUA. In August 2013, Biliouris was selected as the deputy director of the Office of Consumer Protection, an office charged with enhancing consumer protection, education, and access to credit union services.
