Diamond Lakes FCU CEO 'Inspired by Service to Community'

Tammy Passafiume

The Malvern Daily Record's "Women in the Work Place" section for Feb. 21 highlights Diamond Lakes Federal Credit Union's new president/CEO, Tammy Passafiume as a person inspired by service to community.

Passafiume was born in Arizona but moved from place to place because her dad was in the Air Force. In fact, her family moved six times before Passafiume's sixth grade school year. Then they settled until she graduated from Beebe High School.

Arkansas was always home for her family, since her parents were from Arkansas. From high school, she went on to be a graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School, Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers, Dale Carnegie Effective Communications and Human Relations, and Camden Area Leadership. She also attended Southern Arkansas University in Camden.

Passafiume moved to Diamond Lakes on Nov. 13, 2014, one day before she got the job at the Diamond Lakes FCU branch in Malvern. Since the move, she has started serving on the Malvern/Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and the Credit Union National Association’s Community Credit Union Committee, the ARCUSO board of directors, and Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Credit Union Resources board of directors.

Passafiume was once an insurance agent, but noted that she preferred service realm to sales. And she said of her success, "I got to where I am because good people believed and invested in me."
