Cornerstone’s Compliance Council is proud to announce our 2nd audio conference of on the topic of Digital Breaches, Fraud, and Cybersecurity. Our speaker is Garrett Lansberry, a special agent of the U.S. Secret Service in Austin. He will be speaking on cybersecurity, phishing, trends and recent threats in the industry, and best practices for dealing with information breaches.
The U.S. Secret Service maintains a nationwide network of Electronic Crimes Task Forces (ECTFs) as mandated by the U.S. Patriot Act. The concept of the ECTF network is bring together the financial community and law enforcement for the purpose of preventing, detecting, mitigating, and aggressively investigating attacks on the nation’s financial and critical infrastructures. These task forces have taken the lead in investigating the most recent major information breaches at Neiman Marcus, Target, Michaels and other retailers.
Garrett Lansberry is a special agent of the U.S. Secret Service in Austin who specializes in matters of digital security and investigating cyber fraud incidents.
Agent Lansberry has worked for five years with the Austin Resident Office of the U.S. Secret Service investigating a variety of financial and threat-related cases, in addition to different protection assignments. Before working for the Secret Service, he was a state trooper for the Louisiana State Police in Baton Rouge, and spent time as an instructor in firearms at the police academy.
