CUTX Board Chair Named a 2015 Minority Business Leader

Ada Williams

Credit Union of Texas announced that Ada Williams, the CUTX chairman of the board, was inducted into the 2015 class of Dallas Business Journal’s Minority Business Leaders during the Minority Business Leader Awards luncheon held Feb. 4 in Dallas.

Williams has served on the board of directors at the $1 billion credit union since 1981 and has been chairman since 1996. 

"Ada has a legacy of service to not just CUTX but to the greater community as a whole," said John Lederer, CEO of Credit Union of Texas. "Her dedication to Dallas ISD and her passion for education is unmatched. Ada and other educators like her are a rich part of the CUTX history; and we could not be more proud to claim her as one of our own.”

Williams started her career in education in 1955 as an elementary school teacher in Dallas ISD. She eventually served as an elementary and secondary school counselor before taking on the role of the district’s director, employee organizations. She retired from that position in 2002.

Dallas-based Credit Union of Texas has over $1.135 billion in assets and provides financial services to over 120,000 members in Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Denton, and parts of Grayson, Fannin, Ellis, and Tarrant counties.
