CULAC Finishes 2013-2014 with Record $4.43M
Monday, January 12, 2015 6:30 AM

The Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), the federal political action committee for the Credit Union National Association, reports that it finished the 2013-2014 election cycle with a record $4.43 million in receipts—13 percent more than its 2011-2012 total of $3.9 million.

The gross receipts of $2.28 million in 2014 means CULAC is starting the 2015-2016 election cycle with more than $464,000 available.

Nearly $6 million was spent this election cycle by CUNA and CULAC, including more than $3 million in direct contributions in 396 races. The result, according to CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle, is a "credit-union friendly majority" in both houses of the 114th Congress.

Additionally, last week, CULAC's executive committee confirmed all 27 nominees for vacant seats, filling the complement of the 58-member board of trustees. Next up is the election of six at-large representatives to the executive committee for 2015, nominations for which will be open this week.
