Texell CU has announced the hiring of Michael Capenos to the position of vice president of retail delivery. In his new role, Capenos will oversee the administration and operations of all branches and the mortgage division. He will also be responsible for ensuring consistently excellent member service in all retail delivery channels.

“Michael is a proven leader with extensive financial experience,” stated Texell’s Chief Operating Officer Amy Merriman. “We are delighted to have him join the Texell management team.”

Capenos comes to Texell from American Airlines FCU, where he served as business development manager for real estate and business services.  Capenos holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Radford University.

leadership, commitment to member service and the wide array of products and services Texell offers its members.” Capenos stated.


River City FCU (RCFCU) is pleased to announce that Ryan Pierce has been named vice president of lending.  In this role, Pierce will oversee consumer and mortgage lending, as well as collections. 

“Pierce brings a wealth of knowledge about credit union operations.  ” said Kim L. Heinze, president/CEO for RCFCU.  “He also appreciates the culture of credit unions and our commitment to serving members.  I am happy that he has joined our team as we continue to grow our membership and assets.”

Pierce most recently held the position of vice president of branch administration at Firstmark CU, where he worked for 15 years.

Pierce holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master of Business Administration from Texas State University.



Amanda Kassler, SPHR, PMP, has joined Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) as compensation and benefits manager. She carries leadership and supervisory responsibility for employee benefits and services, including corporate level oversight and reporting and coordination of the organization’s workers’ compensation program.

Prior to joining the credit union, Kassler served as a senior human resources administrator for the City of San Antonio. In addition, she teaches as a corporate training instructor for the Alamo Community College District. She is a certified senior professional in human resources, certified project management professional and certified corporate trainer.

She is a member of a wide variety of local and national organizations, including the National Project Management Association, San Antonio Human Resources Management Association, San Antonio Compensation Association, World at Work and the International Society for Performance Improvement.


YOUR Community Credit Union (YCCU) has promoted Joe Adair to vice president-business development – a newly created position at the credit union.

Mark O’Bryan, YCCU CEO said, “Adair will help the credit union generate new business, fortify existing relationships, and increase YCCU’s awareness in the communities served.”

With 15 years credit union and banking experience, Adair joined YCCU in 2011 as assistant vice president and branch manager. Adair earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. 


Generations FCU has announced that Angela Howorth will assume the role of senior vice president of HR. Howorth has been with Generations FCU since 1996, most recently holding the position of vice president of HR. In the newly created senior vice president role, Howorth will be responsible for the overall aspects of the credit union’s HR department including talent management, leadership

development, compensation, benefits and staffing. Additionally, she will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the human resources team.

“Over the years, Angela has proven to be a skilled leader and dedicated professional. She is a highly accomplished HR expert and has guided her team through several critical development and leadership projects, furthering credit union business strategies. As Senior Vice President, I know she will continue to excel and I look forward to her leadership under this expanded role,” said Steve Schipull, president and CEO of Generations FCU.

A native of San Antonio, Howorth holds a BBA in Human Resources Management from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a member of the San Antonio Human Resources Management Association, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Human Resources and Training Council and the Society for Human Resources Management, and in her spare time she volunteers with Credit Unions For Kids.
