The need for blood never takes a day off, not for a holiday, the perfect beach day, or even a snow day. That's why at Cornerstone's 2016 Annual Meeting last week, the Young Professionals were out in force in the Expo Hall where the spirit of "credit unions care" showed up in the form of a blood donation drive.

It is estimated that up to 97 percent of the population will be touched by the need

for blood products at some point in their lives, and the blood that was collected April 6 at the YP Blood Drive will help ensure that when those products are needed, they will be available.

With the help of Cornerstone credit unions, the Oklahoma Blood Institute registered 32 donors. One pint of blood can impact up to as many as three patients, which means that up to 96 lives may be touched by their donations. Ninety-six!

The YPs want to thank all those who rolled up their sleeves to support the YP Blood Drive. Because you took an hour out of your busy schedule to donate blood, it helped one of your neighbors, friends, family members, or perhaps, even you.

And the YPs aren't done yet. They're already hard at work on their next outreach initiative, the Interfaith Housing Coalition.
