Credit Union Tax Exempt Status Being Heard in Washington
Monday, June 10, 2013 6:25 AM

It’s official – credit union concerns over their tax status are being heard on Capitol Hill. CUNA reported Friday that credit union advocacy efforts received significant coverage in The Hill, a Washington, D.C. political newspaper.

According to Paul Gentile, CUNA executive vice president of strategic communications, the recent piece by the publication serves as a major breakthrough for credit unions and their supporters in Washington, and also helps support the notion that credit unions aren’t the only ones fighting to maintain credit unions’ tax exemption status.

The Hill reached out to a wide variety of parties being impacted by the tax reform debates in Congress, including credit unions and credit union leagues, the National Restaurant Association, and many others.
