Credit Union of Texas Announces New Chief Information Officer
Tuesday, January 17, 2017 6:55 AM

Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) has announced that Keith Malbrue has joined its ranks as chief information officer. Malbrue came on board the $1.3 billion Dallas-based credit union in November 2016.

Malbrue comes to CUTX after 16 years at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, based in St. Paul, Minnesota. He most recently served as their chief information officer/chief administrative officer, but his tenure also included service as the chief operating officer and the vice president of information technology, making him a well-rounded choice for this role.

“Keith’s background and skills are perfectly matched to our needs; but, honestly, that was almost secondary for me,” said CUTX President Eric Pointer. "I was looking for a culture fit—someone who would contribute on a higher level than just work product. When Keith told me that he saw his role as helping the credit union keep its promises to our members and their families, I knew that Keith checked all the boxes for me."

"CUTX had already attracted my attention with its exciting new brand," Malbrue said. "After speaking with Mr. Pointer, I soon realized that the leadership here embodies that same energy and sense of purpose. I connect to how CUTX wants its members to experience the credit union difference. I’ve been so fortunate to spend my entire career in the industry, and I wholly believe in the underlying credit union philosophy of people helping people. It’s what CUTX is all about."

Credit Union of Texas has $1.3 billion in assets and provides financial services to more than 146,000 members in Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Denton, and parts of Grayson, Fanin, Ellis, and Tarrant counties.
