Credit Union Data Analytics: Join the Conversation
Thursday, March 31, 2016 6:30 AM

Credit Unions pride themselves in knowing their members and providing exceptional, personalized service. Many, if not most, credit union leaders point to service as the single greatest value differentiator between credit unions and banks.

Yet, if you believe the projections contained in the Filene Research Institute’s report, “Trending: Credit Unions in 2025,” consumers will increasingly demand convenience and functionality from their mobile financial services apps that could diminish opportunities for credit union employees to become personally familiar with their member-owners.

In the future, if credit union members do not visit their local branch as often, how will credit unions come to know their members? The answer is straightforward but not simple: data analytics.

Over the past 11 weeks, Credit Union Resources has called upon industry experts to share the “hows” and “whats” of data analytics, from how analytics can be used to create member loyalty and attract Millennials to what a credit union will need to implement a member relationship management (MRM) strategy. We hope the information contained in the articles has been educational and perhaps helped you begin formulating your own MRM strategy.

As we conclude our educational initiative, we would like to thank Marquis, OnApproach, Ser Technology, and SNL Financial for offering their time and expertise by contributing content for the articles and blogs that have been published in the Cornerstone League’s daily Leaguer e-newsletter and the Credit Union Resources blog.

In addition, for those of you who will be attending the Cornerstone Annual Meeting, we would like to invite you to join us for a data analytics panel discussion at 1:00 on Tuesday, April 5, in Oklahoma City. Joining us, from our data analytics experts, will be:

  • Jay Kassing, president, Marquis

  • Pete Keers, senior engagement manager, OnApproach

  • Doug White, EVP business development & strategic alliances, Ser Technology

  • John Wilkinson, credit union relationship manager, SNL Financial

To round out the panel, Tim McCoy, VP marketing and e-commerce, InTouch Credit Union, will participate to provide a credit union-eye’s view of the practical application of data analytics in credit union marketing.

We look forward to seeing you in Oklahoma City!
