Credit Union-Offered Scavenger Hunt Teaches High School Students about Finance
Friday, May 24, 2013 6:15 AM

More than 40 Churchill High School students received a hands-on lesson in finance as they participated in a scavenger hunt through Generations FCU (San Antonio) this past week. The exercise is the last of the Credit Union’s National Financial Literacy Month initiatives.

Students got a behind-the-scenes view of the day-to-day operations of the credit union, from a tour of the vault, to meeting with front-line tellers and the CEO of the 73-year-old credit union.  They were also provided with Generations’ custom-designed Financial Literacy Month (FLM) t-shirts.

In addition to Churchill High School, Generations partnered with every college in the Alamo Community Colleges district to bring financial literacy classes to local college students. During April (National Financial Literacy Month), the generations Student Life Team taught more than 25 classes to hundreds of students throughout the city.
