Cosden Federal Credit Union Announces New President/CEO
Monday, May 11, 2015 6:50 AM

Cosden Federal Credit Union in Big Springs, Texas, has a new president and CEO. Laurie Barraza was selected to take the helm of the $37 million dollar credit union, effective June 1, 2015.

"Laurie brings a lot of positive energy, familiarity with our community, and excellent experience in credit union management," said Edward Moughon, chairman of the search committee. "I think this is an excellent opportunity for Laurie and the credit union to grow and advance together. The Cosden board is confident our members will find her responsive to their needs."

When they knew they would need a dynamic individual to fill the position, Cosden took advantage of the expertise offered by Credit Union Resources, whose team conducted an intense regional search for the best candidate.

Barraza comes to Cosden from Big Spring Education Employees Federal Credit Union, where she served as vice president and was responsible for the credit union's lending, marketing, collections, compliance, and human resources. She holds a bachelor's degree in business marketing from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Additionally, she is a graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School.
