Cornerstone Webinar: An Army of Volunteer Advocates
Tuesday, January 16, 2018 6:35 AM

A special free webinar Feb. 7 hosted by the Cornerstone Credit Union League Volunteers Council

Volunteers play not only an important role in the cooperative credit union movement, they also have powerful messages to deliver to elected officials about the "people helping people" philosophy. A volunteer's enthusiasm for credit unions can make them some of the industry's most successful advocates. So this year, Cornerstone is collaborating with member credit unions to develop an Army of Volunteer Advocates.

Join us Feb. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. (CT) for a complimentary and constructive webinar—An Army of Volunteer Advocates—to help you add a new dimension to your volunteerism.

The Army of Volunteer Advocates webinar is designed to identify, educate, and engage volunteers in the political process to help ensure that credit unions thrive well into the future. You see, volunteers are often the very constituents their lawmakers care about most, so teaching volunteers how to deliver strong messages and requests can potentially yield great results for credit unions and their members. And though many volunteers want to participate in the political arena, many don't know how to get started. That's where Cornerstone comes in.

Your Speaker: Jim Phelps, Chief Advocacy Officer, Cornerstone Credit Union League
Jim PhelpsJim Phelps is responsible for overseeing the political, legislative, and regulatory advocacy functions at Cornerstone. He serves as advocacy advisor to the board of directors to provide strategy and direction for the league's advocacy priorities. He also works with credit unions to help them become involved in political programs such as CU: ROAR, PAC fundraising, and the Member Activation Program.

Register today to become part of an Army of Volunteer Advocates.

This webinar is FREE for Volunteers Council members. For Non-Council members, you pay only $25, which will also automatically subscribe you to the Volunteers Council for 2018—a one-and-done payment for a year of benefits that include:
