Wednesday, May 14, 2014 6:45 AM

The Saizes’ will share their story May 29 at a special flag-raising ceremony honoring the Lubbock-based credit union’s receipt of the Juntos Avanzamos designation.

“Juntos Avanzamos” means “together we advance,” and this designation is awarded by Cornerstone to credit unions that have successfully completed a rigorous application process that confirms they have the capacity, commitment, and compassion to serve the financial needs of Hispanic families. At the ceremony on May 29, Cornerstone officials will present Alliance FCU with a Juntos Avanzamos flag.

The flag raising event will take place May 29, at 10:30 a.m., at the credit union’s  2220 34th Street branch in Lubbock. Cornerstone CEO Dick Ensweiler will officiate. Special guests and dignitaries include:

  • Bishop Placido Rodriguez
  • Mayor Glen Robertson
  • Alliance FCU Board Member Rojean Brewer
  • Frank and Sandra Saiz
