Cornerstone Social Media Leaders: Make a #CUDifference

Credit Union National Association is launching a new communications effort called the #CUdifference to raise credit union awareness. As social media leaders, we hope you’ll join in on social media to make this a successful initiative.

The idea behind the campaign is simple:

  • Record a 15-second video of yourself or someone else on your smartphone
  • Explain what not-for-profit, member-directed, locally focused credit union cooperatives mean to you
  • Wrap up the video by saying “and that’s the credit union difference!”
  • Post the video on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook using the hashtag #CUdifference

Help Us Now, Before GAC!

On Monday, Feb. 22, CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle will open the GAC general session by introducing the #CUdifference campaign. Even though you may not be attending the CUNA GAC this year, your voice can still be heard. How?

  1. Record your video
  2. Email the video file to Christina Pontisso (
  3. Post the video to your social media accounts

If you send in your video over the next few days to Pontisso, it may be featured on the big screen at the CUNA GAC next week to raise the profile of the #CUdifference hashtag before the conference.
