Cornerstone's Mortgage Lending & Compliance Seminar Helps Connect the Dots
Thursday, March 20, 2014 6:40 AM

Whether you are looking to improve your credit union’s residential lending program or learn about the new regulatory changes that affect your credit union, you don’t want to miss the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Mortgage Lending & Compliance Seminar March 25-26 in Oklahoma City; April 8-9 in Dallas, and Sept. 16-17 in Houston.

Day one of the two-day program is designed to connect the dots from pre-application to the closing table. Presenters Tom Duke of Blalack & Williams, and Kimberly Lundquist, president of FIC Conferences will cover among other things:

  • ECOA (Action Taken & Monitoring)
  • HMDA (Reporting)
  • RESPA (GFE & Changed Circumstances)
  • Appraisals & Evaluations
  • Flood Insurance Requirements

Those involved in the originating, processing and closing processes will find day one content most beneficial.

Day two is designed to build on a good foundation. Duke and Lundquist will update attendees on the latest changes and problem-solve challenges that arise. Attendees should note that while it isn’t necessary to have a wealth of experience in residential real estate lending and/or home equity, having at least two years of experience would provide the cornerstones for maximizing the workshop experience.

Among other things, day two covers:

  • ECOA (New Disclosures)
  • RESPA (Homeownership Counseling, Escrows & Servicing Rules)
  • The latest proposals to require Escrows for Flood Insurance
  • Higher Priced Loans, Escrows & Servicing Rules

Please note that the seminars in Dallas and Houston will cover the Texas Home Equity State Law.
