Cornerstone’s Matthews Advances in Legislative Race

Robyn Matthews

Cornerstone’s Robyn Matthews emerged in second place from a four-way Republican primary during Tuesday’s primary voting in Oklahoma. Matthews, who serves as legislative liaison and PAC coordinator for the Oklahoma Association, was one of four candidates seeking the nomination for House District 85 representing Northwest Oklahoma City.

Since no candidate claimed more than 50 percent of the primary vote, the first and second place finishers will meet in the August 23 runoff. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Cyndi Munson in the November 8 general election.

“Robyn has been tenacious in her campaign effort, and to finish a close second in such a crowded field is no small feat for a first time candidate” said Nate Webb, president of the Oklahoma Credit Union Association. “I have every confidence she will continue to do the things necessary to advance to the general election ballot in November. Congratulations are certainly in order."
