Cornerstone's Karen Hart Named a CU Rock Star
Friday, October 16, 2015 6:55 AM

Karen Hart

Cornerstone EVP, CFO, and chief member services officer Karen Hart has been seen in a whole lot of places around the Southwest lately, and she's even been seen gracing the pages of Credit Union Magazine where she was named an official Credit Union Rock Star.

When she isn’t switching her executive hats, you’ll probably find Hart out on the open road, riding her beloved Harley, says the magazine. "Although she loves to 'cruise,' Hart also uses her motorcycle to do some good, handing out toys to children lining the street during “toy runs. Helping people just comes naturally to Hart."

Those of us who have met Karen Hart can attest to her commitment to credit unions, where she's "lived" for 36 years. And she's not just talk; her passion for credit unions rivals her enthusiasm for her Harley. She's all about doing the most and best she can for the credit union movement and for people. If you've ever seen her talk about the Credit Unions Care campaign, which raises money to benefit hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network, you'll understand just how true that is.

Dick Ensweiler, Cornerstone’s president/CEO, says Hart is often "at the helm of tough projects, such as merging nearly 10 organizations into three during a consolidation of the three state leagues that became Cornerstone, Credit Union Resources, and the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation."

Hart believes that all of her efforts are strengthened by an amazing, supportive team.

Have a look at Hart's Rock Star page in the Credit Union Magazine (page 31), and we'll give her the last word.

“There’s no better feeling in life than to give of yourself for the betterment of others,” she says. “I believe credit unions can—and do—make a difference in our everyday lives.”

Congrats to Karen Hart, who is indeed a rock star.
