Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation

The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation has been working hard to raise funds for the benefit of credit unions; and in September, three significant events came to fruition, the 21st Annual Golf Tournament, SYNG, and the Winner’s Choice raffle.

The 21st Annual Golf Tournament proved once again to be successful, with 110 players, tireless volunteers, and the 51 sponsors who made it all happen.

The Winner’s Choice Raffle created excitement over the last few months leading up to the drawing via Facebook live on Sept. 13. Congratulations to Mike Kloiber with Tinker FCU, Maribel Moreland with EECU, and Kenita Dougharty with Sabine FCU for their big wins.

Finally, the Foundation’s new event, SYNG, certainly did not disappoint. Debuted at the Leadership Conference, SYNG highlighted some of our very own credit union superstars. The inaugural event featured the following ACTS: Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, The Jersey Boys, The Pink Ladies, Meghan Trainor and Her Suitors, Latina Heat, and We Are the World. If you were not able to join in on the fun this year, take a sneak peek at what you missed!

All of the funds raised go toward the Foundation's mission to carry out three primary initiatives: financial capability programs for youth and adults, overall credit union development through grant opportunities, and disaster relief for credit union staff and volunteers when disaster strikes.

"I'm humbled and thrilled by the generosity of our credit unions," said Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran. "We as a Foundation could not make a difference and give back to the credit union communities without the support of credit unions and their generous leaders, employees, and members."
