Cornerstone Foundation Offers Webinar for BizKid$ Teacher Training & Entrepreneur Contest
Thursday, October 15, 2015 6:35 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation has announced that they have received a generous grant from the National Credit Union Foundation to continue their innovative Biz Kid$ Teacher Training and Entrepreneur Contest and will be offering a free informational webinar to interested parties.

Please register here for the Foundation webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2:00 p.m.

Biz Kid$ is the credit union-funded public television series that teaches kids about money management and entrepreneurship. The Cornerstone Foundation has been a supporter of BizKid$ since its inception. In fact, the Foundation supported the production of seasons 1-5. Additionally, Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran serves on the BizKid$ National Advisory Committee. This is the third year the National Foundation has generously supported the Cornerstone Foundation's Teacher Training and Entrepreneur Contest.

Participating teachers, with the help of a credit union partner, will implement the Biz Kid$ curriculum in their classrooms, and students will collaboratively create a business plan for a needed organization in their community, thus incorporating the entrepreneurship skills learned through Biz Kid$.

"The Cornerstone Foundation is committed to empowering our credit unions, educators, and community partners with the tools, resources, and information needed to educate our young people on personal finance," says Moran. "We will leverage these grant dollars effectively and efficiently so that we can expand the BizKid$ initiative, but more importantly help inspire young people to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit."
