Cornerstone CUs Invited to Join Important Study on Regulatory Burden
Friday, May 19, 2017 6:45 AM

Recently, credit unions in the Cornerstone region received an email from Credit Union National Association CEO Jim Nussle inviting participation in an update of the Regulatory Burden Study that CUNA and the leagues commissioned in 2015. Cornerstone encourages all credit unions to consider becoming involved in this important study.

Your participation would involve completing a data collection form in the next few months that will allow us to update CUNA's estimate of total credit union regulatory costs.

The previous study found that the total financial impact of regulation in 2014 cost credit unions $7.2 billion. Using the national results, Cornerstone estimated that the cost to credit unions in the region was $597.7 million. This is powerful information we can use to convince our delegation in Congress of the vital need for regulatory reform. That's why it's so important for credit unions—for you—to consider participation.

Regulatory relief will be a primary focus while we are in Washington, DC, for Hike the Hill, June 26–28. We hope you can attend and participate. To learn more, please visit, Hike the Hill.

All Cornerstone is asking for now is that you register for an introductory webinar that takes place next week, which will provide much more information on what it will take to participate. After that, you'll be able to decide whether or not to proceed. To get an invitation to the webinar, please click here to register.
