Cornerstone Credit Union League Introduces New Volunteers Council
Tuesday, April 29, 2014 6:50 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union League has created a new council solely for the volunteers of our member credit unions. Cornerstone understands volunteers play an integral and crucial role in fostering a credit union's success.  The mission of the Cornerstone Volunteers Council is to unite those who share a common interest in the credit union movement and allow for a centralized location to communicate and educate.  Membership in this council is free for 2014, and we highly encourage all credit union volunteers to take advantage of this opportunity.

The benefits of membership in the Volunteers Council include:

  • Access to a members only resource site with forums and document sharing
  • Networking and sharing best practices with peers
  • Opportunities to learn from others' shared experiences
  • Educational Opportunities
  • Mentoring

Joining the Volunteers Council is easy by registering online. To view information about this council you may visit the Cornerstone website. Credit unions can also find information about Cornerstone’s other councils by visiting

Along with the creation of the new Volunteers Council, Cornerstone is also looking for volunteers to serve on the executive committee to support the development and success of the council while also promoting membership.  Responsibilities of an executive committee member include quarterly conference calls with Cornerstone staff liaisons, occasional in-person meetings, and assisting with providing valuable resources to share with the council.

If you or someone in your credit union is interested in becoming a member of the Volunteer Council's executive committee, please sign up here.

All applications for executive committee membership must be submitted by May 16, 2014.

If you have questions about the council program, please contact Mike Delker, senior vice president of credit union relations, at (800) 442-5762, ext. 6826 or
