The Cornerstone Credit Union League (Cornerstone) is encouraging credit unions to help fight hunger by participating in an International Credit Union Day Chapter wide food drive. On its website, Cornerstone has created a page for International Credit Union Day.
In addition to offering suggestions on how credit unions can celebrate International Credit Union Day Oct. 17, the webpage features a food drive tool kit that includes signage for your donation box, a web banner in several different sizes, a statement insert, poster, table tent and flyer. All of these materials can be downloaded from Cornerstone’s website. The League is suggesting that the food drive run Oct. 17 – Nov. 15. If your chapter participates in the food drive, please be sure and share your results with the League, by emailing email@example.com.
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union difference. This year’s theme, “Credit Unions Unite for Good: A Better Way,” emphasizes the benefits of cooperation among credit unions worldwide. It also speaks to the powerful global network of 56,000 credit unions, which no other financial institution can claim, and the advantages that result from sharing challenges, experiences and solutions with one another to better serve members.
League-affiliated credit unions are encouraged to share how they will be celebrating International Credit Union Day, by emailing your plans to firstname.lastname@example.org.
