The Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Council program exists to facilitate information sharing and educational opportunities among credit union professionals. In November, both the Compliance Council and the Marketing & Business Development are offering educational programs for Council members and non-members.

Cornerstone’s Compliance Council is offering an audio conference Nov. 13, focused on consumer lending compliance. From application to funding, compliance is a vital component to a credit union’s lending process. The Nov. 13 audio conference is designed to give a quick overview of the laws and regulations impacting this critical product offered by credit unions.

The audio conference will answer a number of key questions, including:

  • What constitutes an application under the different regulations?
  • What types of questions can we ask or not ask under Reg B?
  • What are the different aspects of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as they pertain to the lending process?
  • What are the timing and disclosure requirements for adverse action notices, Truth in Lending documents and credit score and risk based pricing notices?

The audio conference is from 10-11:30 a.m. Central Standard Time. The educational investment is $25 for council members and $50 for non-council members. The educational investment includes a subscription to the Compliance Council for 2013.
