Cornerstone Credit Union League Changes Dates for 2014 Principles & Philosophy Conference
Tuesday, January 14, 2014 6:40 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union League has received favorable response to its first-ever Principles & Philosophy Conference; however, a number of credit unions expressed concern that it was being held too close to the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference, which is being held Feb. 23-27. Therefore, Cornerstone is pushing the Feb. 10-12 Principles & Philosophy Conference to May 12-14. Cornerstone appreciates feedback from member credit unions and hopes that more credit unions will now be able to take advantage of this worthwhile program with the May 12-14 dates.

This May 12-14 program is a must attend conference for any credit union leader – professionals and volunteers alike – looking to expand their knowledge and understanding, as well as learning how to best leverage the credit union principles and philosophy. Among other things, Cornerstone’s Principles and Philosophy Conference explores:

  • the history and role of credit unions in the marketplace
  • the value of cooperative philosophies and how to apply in the day-to-day operations of your credit union
  • historical and current social impact of credit unions
  • why credit unions are different and how to leverage that for growth

Conference attendees will also create a plan of action for their credit union. Additional information on the Principles & Philosophy Conference can be found in the Education section of Cornerstone’s website at
