Cornerstone Comment Opposes CFPB's Proposed Arbitration Rule
Tuesday, August 23, 2016 7:00 AM

On Aug. 22, Cornerstone SVP Regulatory and Compliance Counsel Suzanne Yashewski sent a comment letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding its proposed rulemaking on arbitration agreements.

In her letter, Yashewski expresses Cornerstone's opposition to the proposal as drafted. She cites the unique structure of credit unions, which makes it important to preserve options for dispute resolution, including the option of limiting class-action litigation. She also requests that, if the rule is adopted, the final version should exempt credit unions.
