Consumers Will Round Up at Checkout for Charity and CMN

Credit Unions Care

The Nonprofit Times reported that some 71 percent of consumers donate to checkout campaigns. According to results of a survey from the consultancy firm Good Scout Group, despite perceived oversaturation of charitable donations at checkout campaigns, the survey findings prove that consumers are not only donating to charity at the register, but they actually like doing so and being asked to do so frequently.

Does this translate to the teller window? Indications are that it does strongly, especially when brand recall is involved. Good Scout ran recall tests in the spring, and the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals made the top three brands. This is why Cornerstone Credit Union League has partnered once again with the Children's Miracle Network during the Credit Unions Care campaign.

Through Aug. 31, the Credit Unions Care campaign is in full swing and will donate 100 percent of all funds raised to the CMN hospitals in the area where the money was raised. Is your credit union taking part? We want to know!

The Credit Unions Care campaign helps people understand that credit unions are not just financial partners but community partners; and in that spirit, Credit Unions Care can help to differentiate credit unions from others in the for-profit financial services sector. We encourage all credit unions to participate in selling the paper dogs or possibly making a donation on behalf of the credit union to help us reach our goal of $115,000.
