Congressional Committee Plans Examination of Regulatory Burdens

The House Financial Services Committee adopted an oversight plan for the 114th Congress that includes a close look at the regulatory burden many of the financial service firms like credit unions face. Items on their agenda include:

  • Examination of the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act;
  • Examination of the activities of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau;
  • Examination of financial regulators' safety and soundness supervision of credit unions and banking industries;
  • Monitoring the solvency of the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, as well as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s Deposit Insurance Fund; and
  • Monitoring of payment card industry practices.
