Documentation, Compliance & Regulatory Update on Texas Accounts

This seminar covers all the new and old rules regarding opening accounts in Texas.  2014 has brought major changes to the POA statutes and minor changes in the renumbering of the statutes.  During this seminar, we cover all the documentation, IRS reporting and account card issues for 30 plus types of accounts.  We also cover information about types of identification like matricular cards, visas, gun permits and other areas of interest to credit unions.  FinCen Proposed Customer Due Diligence rules will require ID on beneficial owners for legal entities and a new form. We’ve added some new accounts this year like the Veteran’s Account and minor account alone.  With special issues regarding nonresident aliens pending, we take a look at the W-8BEN and how it should be completed. Plus many institutions received CP2100s mismatches for dividend reporting and there are ways to avoid that issue in the future. Presenter - Deborah L. Crawford

President of gettechnical inc. She specializes in the education of credit union employees and officers in the areas of deposit account laws, new account documentation, complex compliance regulations, and IRAs. Crawford is well known within the industry for her humorous delivery, personal accounts, and promise to reach each and every attendee in her seminar.

Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) may earn up to 6.0 continuing education credits (CPE) for the Compliance Review Seminar. No advance preparation or prerequisites are required. Registrant Cancellation Policy

Substitutions are always welcome. Registration fee refunds (less a $50 processing fee per person/per seminar) are granted for cancellations received two weeks prior to each seminar.

Seminar Cancellation Policy

Locations with less than 20 registrants three weeks out may be cancelled. In event of cancellation, all registrants will be notified.

Grant Assistance

The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for League training events based on financial need. Applications must be received by application deadlines.
