Pre-Conference Workshop

Todd Sherpy

Risk Managing Audit and Compliance in the Era of Enterprise Risk Management
Todd Sherpy, Sherpy & Jones, P.A., Lexington, South Carolina

In this opening session we will discuss the myth and downside of 100% compliance; and begin to focus on sound risk assessment and risk management of the real risks Credit Unions face today. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of man-hours (“people-hours” in Canada) of great Audit work are not being fully utilized/appreciated if you do not have an equally stellar ERM faction that acts on IA’s findings. We will use the concept of ERM together with real and practical issues from 2017-2018 to steer our discussion together with practical advice on the matters you need to address to join what we call the 90% safe zone (a realistic and not mythical goal).
