Due to COVID-19, Neighborhood Credit Union decided to protect its members and employees by temporarily transitioning to drive-thru only to actively practice social distancing. While it has been an adjustment, the credit union wanted to ensure that its members still feel appreciated during this time.
Employees at Neighborhood CU’s Uptown branch present a member with a handmade card and an Amazon digital gift card to show their appreciation for her bright smile.
That is why employees working at its Uptown branch in Dallas decided to do something a little special for an unsuspecting member. The member had gone through a few personal hardships and unfortunately lost her job in the restaurant industry due to the pandemic. Even though she is currently dealing with stresses that could bring anyone down, she continued to greet those working at the Uptown branch with a positive attitude and a bright smile. Together the employees decided to surprise the member with a digital Amazon gift card and a greeting card to let her know how much they appreciated her bright presence at the credit union. She was so surprised by the random act of kindness. It's clear that a simple smile can leave a lasting impression—even on a local Neighborhood Credit Union team.
Why perform random acts of kindness?
At Neighborhood CU, the staff puts an emphasis on neighborhood and works tirelessly to make a positive difference in member’s lives because they are what makes the credit union what it is. The credit union team started doing random acts of kindness to simply show their members that they are thankful for them. The team likes getting to know their members and working with them every day, so performing random acts of kindness is just their way of giving back and saying thank you.
