Closing Out of the GM CU Member Discount/Love My CU Rewards Program

The GM Credit Union Member Discount program ran successfully for almost seven years. Thanks to the efforts and support of credit unions, nearly one million vehicles were sold and more than 400,000 credit union member loans were written through the Love My Credit Union Rewards Program.

As the company approaches the suspension of the GM program on Sept. 30, 2015, they want to make sure credit unions have all the information they need to ensure a smooth transition. Below are several important logistical items you need to be aware of: 

If you are enrolled in the Individual GM Program:

  • Statement Insert Orders
    • All orders for GM inserts have been cancelled. Credit unions with outstanding orders were sent an email on Sept. 9 advising them of their order cancellation.
  • Lobby/Marketing Materials
    • Sept. 30 – The GM marketing materials page in the Partner Center will be removed.
    • Oct. 1 – Discard any GM materials (print and/or digital) you have in your lobby or other locations within your branch(s).
  • Web Banners
    • Oct. 1 – All GM web banners must be removed from credit union websites.
    • Oct. 1 – If your credit union used the HTML code correctly to place the banner on your website, CUSG will automatically change the banner to a generic Love My Credit Union Rewards banner that links to the LMCUR home page.

If you are enrolled in the AUTO BUNDLE Program:

  • Statement Insert Orders
    • All orders for Auto Bundle inserts will be replaced by CU Road Pal inserts. There is no need to cancel or update your order.
  • Lobby/Marketing Materials
    • Sept. 30 – The Auto Bundle marketing materials page in the Partner Center will be redirected to the CU Road Pal marketing materials page.
    • Oct. 1 – Discard any Auto Bundle printed materials (print and/or digital) you have in your lobby or other locations within your branch(s) and replace them with CU Road Pal. Credit unions can order CU Road Pal print lobby materials in the Partner Center.
  • Web Banners
    • Oct. 1 – If your credit union used the HTML code correctly to place the Auto Bundle banner on your website, CUSG will automatically change the banner to the CU Road Pal banner.
    • Oct. 1 – If your credit union did not use the HTML code to upload the banner to your website, you must remove the banner(s) that contain any GM logos manually and replace them with the updated banner. Please visit the Partner Center to obtain updated banners.

If you are enrolled in the ALL BUNDLE or IIA BUNDLE Program:

  • Statement Insert Orders
    • All orders for All Bundle and IIA Bundle inserts have been reprinted without the GM logo and will be mailed as scheduled. There is no need to cancel or update your order.
  • Lobby/Marketing Materials
    • September – Visit the Partner Center to place your order for new All Bundle and Invest in America Bundle marketing materials that have been revised to no longer contain the GM logo.
    • Oct. 1 – Discard any All/IIA Bundle materials (print and/or digital) you have in your lobby or other locations within your branch(s) and replace them with updated materials. Credit unions can order All/IIA Bundle print lobby materials in the Partner Center.
  • Web Banners
    • Oct. 1 – If your credit union used the HTML code correctly to place the All Bundle or IIA Bundle banner on your website, CUSG will automatically change the banner to the updated Bundle banner without the GM logo.
    • Oct. 1 – If your credit union did not use the HTML code to upload the banner to your website, you must remove the banner(s) that contain any GM logos manually and replace them with the updated banner. Please visit the Partner Center to obtain updated banners.
