CFPB to Host a Field Hearing About Arbitration Clauses

On Thursday, May 5, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will convene a public field hearing focused on arbitration clauses. The field event will feature remarks by CFPB Director Richard Cordray, followed by a panel discussion with consumer groups and industry representatives, and concluding with testimony from members of the public. The event will be livestreamed at consumerfinance.gov.

The credit union perspective will be a part of Thursday’s field hearing. Kevin Hammar of Aldridge, Hammar, Wexler & Bradley, P.A. will be testifying on behalf of the Nevada Credit Union League.

Hammar will be on a panel with Paul Bland of Public Justice; Deepak Gupta of Gupta Wessler PLLC; Christine Hines of National Association of Consumer Advocates; Alan Kaplinsky of Ballard Spahr LLC; and Travis Norton of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
