Call to Action Reminder: Share Your Stories of Regulatory Burden with BCFP by June 19
Wednesday, June 13, 2018 7:00 AM

Cornerstone Credit Union League and the Credit Union National Association are urging credit union stakeholders to share their stories about the impacts of regulatory burden with the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, and press for an exemption for credit unions. We are asking all credit unions in the region to submit their stories by June 19

Please use CUNA’s Grassroots Action Center to make your comments.

In making your comments, we also encourage you to include language about HR 1264, the Community Financial Institution Exemption Act. HR 1264 by Rep. Roger Williams requires the BCFP to exempt credit unions and community banks under $50 billion in assets from the rules and regulations of the Bureau going forward.

When you've completed your comments regarding how regulatory burdens have affected your credit union—with a request for consideration of HR 1264—please email a copy of your message to the financial services legislative aides of your U. S. representatives and senators.

View the contact list to locate your lawmaker's information.

Next week, credit union advocates will be hiking the hill in Washington, DC, to meet with members of Congress and representatives from the BCFP. Your action will help provide momentum for discussions on current regulatory burdens and the importance of a carve-out for credit unions from the BCFP.
