Thanks to the generosity of its members and staff, Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union (BVSCU) held a book drive that brought in 4,269 books for patients and families of Texas Children’s Hospital.

The book drive was held throughout the month of September with collection bins in each of the credit union’s 10 locations and administrative building, and the books were formally donated to the hospital’s patient/family library on Oct. 17.

“We are very excited to receive so many books in such good condition,” said Texas Children’s Hospital Volunteer Coordinator Brian Ballard. “We will be adding these to the libraries at the Katy and Woodlands campuses, as well as our main location downtown."

“Texas Children’s Hospital is a valued member of our community, and we are grateful to our members and staff for their generous response,” said BVSCU President and CEO Yvonne Kershner.

With over $723 million in assets, BVSCU serves more than 57,000 members from College Station to Rosenberg, including three locations in Katy. For details, visit
