Monday, May 11, 2015 6:45 AM

Fort Worth-based credit union EECU recently hired Brad Schone as chief financial officer. Schone, who brings 15 years of experience in the finance industry, returns to EECU following four years as senior vice president of finance at Park Community Credit Union in Louisville, Kentucky. He previously served as an internal audit manager at EECU.

"Without question, I returned to EECU to work with an incredible organizational team," said Schone. "It's a team that believes in the power of plurals. It's not about me; it's about us. The organization believes in putting members' success first, and I'm honored to be part of that mission."

As CFO, Schone will lead key financial initiatives for the credit union including risk management, strategic planning, and treasury management, in order to support continued growth and stability for the organization.

"We're happy to have Brad back on our team," said EECU President and CEO Lonnie Nicholson. "Having worked with him in the past, we're confident in his financial leadership, and we're excited that his career path has brought him back to EECU."

The credit union, valued at $1.7 billion and serving more than 180,000 members and businesses, has a strong history of successful financial management, having remained profitable through the recent recession and maintaining solid year-over-year growth. This year, EECU celebrates its 80th anniversary serving the Greater Fort Worth area, currently ranking as the second largest credit union in North Texas.

With assets of more than $1.7 billion, EECU Credit Union is one of North Texas' largest locally owned financial institutions with a long history of serving the financial needs of individuals and businesses in greater Fort Worth. Open to anyone who lives or works in Tarrant County and surrounding areas, EECU provides more than 180,000 people with a full range of financial products and services through its 13 convenient branch locations and delivery channels including online and mobile banking and 55,000 free ATMs worldwide.
