Beacon FCU: Dedicated to the Community Through Giving
Thursday, December 20, 2018 7:00 AM

For the past 23 years, the staff at Beacon Federal Credit Union have voluntarily contributed money from their personal paychecks into a special fund, and annually, the employees choose five local charitable or nonprofit organizations to receive donations for the holidays. Each of the five organizations receives a check from the entire staff at Beacon FCU. This year, Bay Area Turning Point, Interfaith Caring Ministries, Bay Area Homeless Shelter, Sarah’s House, and The Boys and Girls Harbor in La Porte were selected as recipients.

The staff at Beacon Federal Credit Union is committed to serving their members and the communities in which they live through many different charitable acts during the holidays and throughout the year.

“We are committed to being highly involved in every aspect of our communities,” said Adelina Abshire, vice president of business development and marketing at Beacon FCU. “Our goal is to be a resource for our members and the communities in which they live. We are always looking for new ways to leave a positive impact on society, never forgetting that our members and communities make us who we are.”

Beacon FCU’s commitment shows through the actions of its employees as it also partners with the Baytown, La Porte, and Seabrook Police Departments donating gifts for Blue Santa and sponsoring children with gifts every holiday season. Along with the Blue Santa Project, the credit union participates annually in the Christmas Angel Program, and this year sponsored some 16 children with toys, clothes, shoes, socks, and other necessary items to help make their Christmas a little brighter.

The Holiday Season is a great time for giving, and Beacon Federal Credit Union strives to be a true beacon of dedicated service and commitment to each community they serve.
