ICU Day 2018

The Cornerstone Credit Union League’s International Relationship Committee encourages you to take the 2018 ICU Day Challenge and partner on a global scale with the World Council of Credit Unions as it looks to empower, include, and leverage technology to digitize financial services so that prosperity is accessible to all.

The chair of the International Relationship Committee, Nancy Croix Stroud, CEO of First Class American Credit Union, says that “supporting the international development of credit unions is a role that each of us should embrace. Not only do these efforts benefit millions of individuals around the world, but they also resonate and help articulate to American consumers the vital difference credit unions make in our own communities.”

Support. Serve. Share. is the call to action from the World Council to its U.S. peers to do a little during this annual celebration, and in doing so, you are making a tremendous impact on millions of credit union members worldwide.

Help the World Council raise $70,000 in support during the 2018 ICU Day Challenge to further international credit union development efforts, from Haiti to Ukraine, from Colombia to Kenya. Be a part of the digital solution to use technology to link CU systems together while responding to member needs in their communities.

Go out into your communities and give your volunteer time to a charity that is addressing a development need that affects credit union members worldwide. Hunger, housing, health... all these adversities are challenges for our members. Join in our goal of reaching 7,000 volunteer hours during the Challenge.

Keep in touch with what your peers are doing, and don't be bashful in sharing your work too! Use the official Challenge (#PLATINUMLININGFOUND) and 2018 ICU Day (#ICUDay) hashtags to showcase your good work and what supporting the International Credit Union system means to you and your credit union here at home. Let's knock our goal of 700 social media shares out of the park!
